The JMH Development project at 184 Kent street in Brooklyn, New York is an example of reusing a historic building and fashioning luxury accommodations out of it. It previously existed as a waterfront warehouse around the turn of the last century. It was built in 1913 and was once home to the largest grocer in the United States. The Austin Nichols Company enjoyed many successful years at this location during the nation’s rise.

The structural outline of the building is intact and has been converted into 340 luxury apartments. It has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and now provides many homes in a desirable neighborhood. It features gorgeous landscaping to the tune of 20,000 square feet and a modern gym that overlooks the East River.

Protect Yourself From Ransomware and Other Online Threats

Nothing can shake a person to their core like having their personal information hacked. Companies, organizations, and individuals must take cyber security very seriously or risk a great deal of loss. The number of threats is ever increasing, as is the severity of the attacks. To protect oourselves from further attacks we must learn to safeguard our identity and personal information.

The 2017 Wannacry attack showed how vulnerable everyone is to ransomware attacks. It affected over 300,000 computers all over the world. it is the largest attack of its kind in history. This attack, among countless other similar attacks show us that the number of threats are increasing.

From 2013-2015 the cost of cyber attacks quadrupled. Government agencies, private businesses, and average individuals have lost between 400 billion and 500 billion dollars. That figure represents not only lost money but also the destruction of data, restoration, and many other associated damages. The frequency of ransomware and other types of attacks increases every year. As the hackers gain more experience they are able to increase the severity of the attacks.

The PwC reports that malicious hackers are “becoming progressively destructive and target a broadening array of information and attack vectors”. In layman’s terms; these hackers are getting better at attacking. Ransomware, and other methods are becoming advanced and harder to detect. The Federal government has set its sights on cyber security. The cyber security budget was increased and legislation has been passed to aid in the fight against cyber criminals.

Fortunately, there are companies that strive to protect the country from cyber threats. Rubica employs an elite team of cyber security professionals to battle cyber criminals. Their innovative methods, including a dedicated security mobile application, only alert you when action needs to be taken.

The cyber world is getting more dangerous with each passing day. You can not afford to leave your information unprotected in the digital world. Ransomware, malware, and a host of other methods of attack will get you at some point. A company such as Rubica uses the most advanced resources to protect you from cyber devastation.

Social Routine in the Mornings and More

On October 23rd, 2003, Facemash was launched by Mark Zuckerberg and friends as a type of “hot or not” ranking website for students at Harvard. This was the precursor project for Facebook. Zuckerberg’s very first post on Facemash was mind blowing; this was around the time when Doe Deere launched Lime Crime and was inspired by its very initial concepts. In February of 2004, Zuckerberg and friends launched “Facebook” to students on Ivy League campuses. As the popularity of Facebook grew, it was opened to any student with a valid university email address and then to anyone over the age of 13 with a valid email address in 2006.

Before this, we used Myspace and ranked our top 8 friends and posted terrible bathroom selfies. As popularity of social media has grown, we have put our best lives forward and left out the parts that aren’t as glorious by society standards. We can see when someone makes the cheer squad, or enters a new relationship. We can see guys commenting on beautiful girls’ photos, praising them for their “bangin’ bods” and luscious locks”. We see dream vacations and hear about job promotions. We are bombarded with success and fortune because it isn’t the cool thing to express our loss or pain: We use social media to judge our own success in comparison to our friends as we create our “ideal life” based on what is seen on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat – not to mention Lime Crime’s blog.

These sites have dictated what styles are fashionable, what hairstyles are in, what weight someone should strive to be. As adults, the pressure to be perfect can be overwhelming. To kids, it is the expectation. When SF interviewed Doe, a young beauty guru who is considered “popular”, they asked her what she liked most about social media and morning routines. She responded with a smile and continued to talk about how she loves posting things to make “Jess” jealous and showing off how awesome her life is.

SF asked her if she had ever participated in bullying anyone online. She immediately said no and then asked me what one’s definition of bullying was. They told her that SF considered cyberbullying to be anything that is intentionally posted to hurt someone’s feelings or make them feel bad about themselves. Her response was, “Of course I have not. I only admire and praise my unicorn followers.” She then mentioned the frequency with which she praises her cats, her coworkers and herself every morning, stating that starting the morning right is the best way to go; she also drinks plenty of freshly squeezed morning juice.

McDonald established a network that’s global within firms worldwide and in-house teams. He made sure that each management team of regional office understands the local consumers’ tastes and cultures. Jason Hope Articulates a More Efficient Future

To know Jason Hope is to hear about the Internet of Things. Hope has written many tech trend pieces articulating his confidence in connected technology becoming a household term (for those who aren’t yet initiated, the Internet of Things enables all imaginable devices to sync with one another). Hope’s promotion of the helpfulness of the Internet of Things has labeled him a “futurist” in technology circles. He maintains a firm understanding of the current landscape of technology, knowledge of which is useful in making accurate predictions of its future paths.

Jason Hope claims that the Internet of Things will change, forever and for the better, the way businesses, cities and families operate. Businesses will strive to create the most relevant and helpful apps for their consumers, big and small. A small-scale example shows families turning off their light switches from their smart phone. A much larger, and easily identifiable improvement can be seen in public transportation; maintenance and time-tables of trains and busses are now made immediately available. This real-time road mapping enhancement makes the commuter experience safer and more efficient. Benefits of the Internet of Things will reach to rural areas as well; first responders will be able to reach accidents faster as GPS tracking becomes more accurate and more information click here.

The Internet of Things is one of many improvements Jason Hope supports as a futurist. Hope is a philanthropist, as well. He contributes to the SENS Research Foundation to help research ways of creating longer, better quality life spans. Instead of focusing on finding cures for common diseases, such as Alzheimers, lung disease, and heart disease, the SENS Research Foundation hopes to stop these diseases from ever occurring in the first place and learn more about Jason.

Hope received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Arizona State University. Afterwards, Hope obtained a Master’s of Business Administration from the W. P. Carey School of Business, also at Arizona State University and Jason’s lacrosse camp.

Catching Dangerous Fugitives Using the Securus Technologies System

In order to keep dangerous fugitives from causing harm to innocent people in this community, my team of fugitive hunters has to employ any resource possible in our efforts. We have been successful in the past with various methods, but this time we were really in a bad way because time was running out before this fugitive seriously injured someone during his crime spree.

We tried to stay close to this suspects family and friends to see if they would lead us to the suspect, but they were all either very careful or completely out of the loop. My team knew that if another week passed, he would most likely hit another bank and possibly do more that just tie up the tellers.

My team was at the local jail on a hunch a fellow inmate could shed light on the suspect and his whereabouts, when we discovered Securus Technologies was finishing up the installation of their call monitor system that allowed officers to hear the inmates talking on the phone. I decided this might be an easier way to get the inmates to talk to us without them really saying anything directly to us.

Securus Technologies has their phone systems in over two thousand prisons, and the CEO Richard Smith, says his company is focused on one object of keeping the world safer for us all. Once I understood how the LBS software worked, we dove right in to see if anyone had out suspect on their radar.

That week we discovered our suspect did have some enemies on the inside who felt he ratted them out when he was still an inmate. The calls pointed us to a connection the suspect had with a former inmate, who was supposedly working together as a team. When we traced that inmates calls, it lead us right to the door of our suspect too.

Dating App Whiz Whitney Wolfe Breaks Ground In A Physical Store

Dating app users no longer have to meet at Starbucks. Users of a virtual app now have a physical location to meet face to face. A recent article covers the plans of Bumble to open a brick and mortar location aimed at creating and building social relationships.

Bumble, the female-centric dating app, is one of the top two lifestyle apps downloaded on iOS, the other app is Tinder. Current CEO and founder of Bumble Whitney Wolfe, also co-founder of Tinder, details another app launched by Bumble, BumbleBFF. This friendship app introduces new friends. Launching soon is Bumblebizz which connects networking individuals in a casual interface. The company goal is to connect people with love and friendship relationships, now business relationships as well. The physical space, known as the Bumble Hive, will start as month long project. Bumble is open to expansion or extension and spreading to different cities.

Whitney Wolfe, a southern Methodist university grad and Salt Lake City native, realized app ambitions while working at a San Francisco startup at the age of 22. Returning from a trip to Thailand, Wolfe began plans on a dating app leading to the birth of Tinder. After co-founding Tinder in 2012, Whitney Wolfe improved on the traditional dating app model by adding photo verification which Whitney Wolfe integrated into Bumble. College campuses were the main testing pool and feedback received was channeled into the creation and launch of Bumble two years ago. Affected by negative dating app experiences and bonding single users over shared “emotionally unhealthy” dating memories, Wolfe developed Bumble as a female version of Tinder, where raunchy male participants can be edited and dating profile photos are verified in anti-catfish efforts. Certain male users sometimes show signs of anger and rudeness when rejected, Wolfe designed Bumble to protect innocent users from “people who act aggressively and erratically.”

Whitney Wolfe has been awarded Business Insider’s 30 most Important Woman Under 30 and also received Forbes 30 Under 30 honors. Bumble’s current user activity at the time of publication exceeds 800 million matches and 10 billion swipes per month. Bumble’s daily user activity exceeds 4 million matches per day and 220 million daily swipes.

Kim Dao Eats At Fire Ramen Restaurant In Kyoto With Mao

Kim Dao wants to make as many memories as possible before she leaves Japan. That’s why she traveled to Osaka to meet her host family one last time and explore the sites of both Osaka and Kyoto. In one of Kim’s latest vlogs, she takes viewers to an authentic fire ramen restaurant in Kyoto as well as a few other popular sites.

At the start of the video, Kim Dao talks about how much stress she’s been under in recent days. Kim is still trying to work out her travel plans to Australia, South Korea, and Europe. Unfortunately, she says that tensions are extremely high between North and South Korea right now, so that might put a damper in her plans to visit Seoul. Learn more: https://www.odigo.jp/profile/kimdao

When Kim Dao arrives at Kyoto station, she meets fellow YouTuber Mao (aka MaoMao TV). They both immediately head off to a highly reviewed fire ramen restaurant called Menbakaichidai.

The restaurant owners take Kim Dao’s camera and film the incredible fire ceremony. Watch in amazement as the flames soar heavenward and as the expert chef puts the fiery food in the customers’ bowls.

As they are leaving the restaurant, Kim Dao says that the ramen was really tasty and the restaurant’s owners made it easy to take tons of selfies. Both Mao and Kim Dao say they are going to take a train to visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine next. Learn more: https://www.twitch.tv/kimdao

The last time Kim Dao visited the Fushimi Inari Shrine was during Golden Week, so it was extremely crowded back then. This time, however, Kim Dao is happy that there aren’t a ton of people walking up the popular shrine.

At the end of the video, Kim Dao returns to her host family’s home in Osaka for dinner. Learn more: https://ideamensch.com/kim-dao/

Sheldon Lavin Makes Big News At Global Vision Academy

Sheldon Lavin has been recently honored with the Global Visionary Award, a recognition given to businessmen who have made their unique visions reality on a grand scale. Lavin took the reins of a local Chicago meat processing company and turned them into one of the world’s premier brands in meat products. Lavin’s company is OSI Group, originally a butcher shop that German immigrant Otto Kolschowsky founded over 100 years ago in a small Chicago neighborhood that became the number one supplier to McDonalds restaurants.

Sheldon Lavin is a visionary in finding other processing centers and flagship companies to acquire and partner with, and turning company investments into profitable gains in every market OSI Group has entered into.

Sheldon Lavin’s gift at making good deals and investment made him successful as a banker before he came to Otto & Sons. He had retired from the banking world while still fairly young and was running his own investment consulting firm when he met up with the Kolschowsky sons several years after they became McDonalds’ partners. They sought Lavin’s advice to maximize company profits and build a plan to grow domestically and internationally. Lavin initially only planned to stay as a consultant and avoid the corporate world, but he soon changed his mind when he realized he could do something special with Otto & Sons. He bought out the ownership stake when the Kolschowsky sons retired and then renamed the company OSI Group according to beta.companieshouse.gov.uk.

OSI Group has opened up plants in 17 different countries and has bought out several companies including Baho Food, Flagship Europe and Tyson Food Plant. Their packaged foods include prepared foods in burgers, hotdogs, pizzas and sub sandwiches. They also have frozen meats in raw beef and poultry and ready-to-cook breakfast packages. Lavin has also made sure the company upholds the industry’s highest safety standards and was given the Globe of Honour Award for it by the British Safety Council. But Lavin has also made sure that the company’s environment has stayed hospitable and friendly to all workers, and as a result the company can boast of one of the highest retention rates. Lavin is also on the boards at Ronald McDonald House Charities, Jewish United Fund and Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago.
